2010 Season - Training Camp Update

Draft Day

Forget the World Cup the most important event of the summer happens at 4pm on Monday afternoon August 30th. That’s the 2010 BUMS NFL Fantasy Draft which will take place on Bank Holiday Monday and be followed by a barbecue. The first game of the season (Vikings @ Saints) is on Thursday September 9th. Trading Day 1 will be on Sunday 17th October before week 6’s games and Trading Day 2 will be on Sunday 14th November before week 10 and prior to the BUMS on Tour of Texas. Put these in your diary. Franchise Players I hope you are all back for another season. If not let me know asap as the time for the selection of our 2010-11 Franchise players has arrived. You must supply the name of your new Franchise Man by July 1st. To help out a few bits of research are on the way. Firstly attached is the final table with each players teams (so you can remember who you had on your squad in the first place) and how much they will cost you for the next two years if you Franchise them. Remember if you cut your franchise player you still pay him his signed salary for the rest of the season/two seasons. This year’s good, bad and ugly big names becoming available include Quarterbacks Ben Roethlisberger, Tony Romo and Jason Campbell, Running Backs Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch and Ryan Grant & Receivers Terrell Owens and Wes Welker as they have all ended their 2 year Franchise designation and become free agents. They are released onto the open market together with the rookies - the rookie report (attached) details the players from the first 85 picks of the NFL Draft who may be available to us this season, together with who signed them. Yes Brett Favre is at it again, still not confirming if he is coming back to Minnesota. Key player moves this off-season have seen QB Donovan McNabb traded by Phili to Washington replacing “no-longer-a-Franchise-man” Jason Campbell who moved to Oakland after the failed JaMarcus Russell years. BUMS faves Joey Galloway and “Fast” Willie Parker have joined McNabb in the nations capital. In other moves receiver Brandon Marshall replaces Ted Ginn Jnr (now San Fran) in Miami & former Steeler Superowl hero Santonio Holmes joins RB LaDainian Tomlinson with the Jets. To makes way for LT’s signing Thomas Jones has moved to Kansas City & Leon Washington to Seattle. Anquan Boldin is now a Baltimore Raven, Jake Delhomme a Cleveland Brown and Chester Taylor a Chicago Bear. Team Nicknames If you wish to change your teams nickname you can do so, again this should be with me by July 1st. So that’s it… 3 things to email me by the end of the month. 1) Are you in for the 2010 season, 2)Your 2010-11 Franchise player & 3) Team nickname if you are changing.
